So good to be back!

Ventnor Arts Club welcomed members for an evening of drinks and conversation on 27th May after several months of closure due to the Covid-19 restrictions. It was wonderful to be able to open the doors and greet familiar faces, to hear the hum of people catching up with each other and the clink of glasses. How we have missed that! During the time we have been closed, work has been going on at the club behind the scenes and also in our main room where, in order to give greater comfort to audiences, state of the art air conditioning has been installed.

Last week we began our club screenings and were pleased to show two contrasting films The Dig, which was a member’s request, and The Windermere Children. Book Group met on Friday…a really enjoyable get together after months of comparing reading notes via email! We had so much to catch up on and as usual the conversation was stimulating and fun.

The calendar is beginning to fill with a variety of exciting recorded live events from the worlds of theatre, opera, ballet and contemporary music. These include international productions and Ventnor Arts Club is delighted to be able screen these in our very special relaxed and comfortable venue. Details are on our website and will be going out in our weekly newsletter.

We are continuing look after our guests by offering table service and by carefully maintaining our standards of cleaning. At Ventnor Arts Club we are keen to ensure that everyone who comes through the door does so with confidence and that they each enjoy their visit to us in every way possible. We look forward to seeing old friends and meeting new faces, giving a warm welcome to all.
